Meeting outcomes

Communication Strategy - all members are encouraged to contribute to this wiki as a way of capturing their thinking about Theories of Learning and particularly the question of how ToL impact the work of the L&SW team.
To this end we all made a commitment to at least contribute the discussion on the Questions page (see navigation bar on the right)

There are a number of options worth considering to optimize your wiki experience/contribution

  • Turn notifications on for pages in the wiki - you will then receive an email when anyone updates a particular page of adds to a discussion.
  • Edit the text on a page (simply click edit)
  • Create a new page (click new page ... The icon is at the top of the wiki)
  • Start a discussion thread
  • Respond to someone else's discussion thread

I would also advise you not to "sign out" when you have finished with the wiki (if you are working on your own machine) .. The next time you go to the site you will not need to log in (just makes it a bit easier)

Reflection ... I have created a page for us to capture our reflections on the "process" particularly in terms of focus and purpose of the investigation:

Focus: We will reflect on the quesiton: "How will this learning (exploring theories of learning) influence the contemporary practices of the L&SW Team?

Purpose:
  • Build the capacity of the L&SW Team
  • Make Team days more productive
  • Work across teams in small groups
  • Explore flexible approaches to learning
  • Contribute to evidence informed contemporary practices

Next meeting ... 20th October

We agreed that the next meeting will be used to add/expand the wiki.
There are a number of options for this ...
  • Collecting resources and uploading them
  • Posting links to videos, podcasts and documents
  • Creating resources - power points, videos, podcasts
  • Creating Refining pages on the wiki

I would encourage people to consider making short clips using Photo-booth to capture some of the more salient points from our discussions so far.
These clips would not require detailed film-making strategies (story-boarding etc) - simply work out what you want to say and record it (repeat the process until you have a take that you are happy with.)

Final Session (not a report) .... 1st December

It is intended that our presentation at the final meeting would consist of showing the L&SW team the wiki.
This would necessitate some discussion and explanation of the contents of the pages, resources and links ... particularly the question "How our learning about Learning Theories has related to the work of the L&SW team"

I would like to include an invitation to all consultants to subscribe to the wiki if they wished to continue/participate in the discussion.

If you require support/reassurance in any of this please don't hesitate to contact me ...
